The MSP Difference

Design & Build Under One Roof

Most homeowners have to hire a designer, then find a contractor, then manage the relationship between them — and then spend months mediating between the two. With MSP Homes, design and construction are unified from day one. The result: a buildable design, a realistic budget, and a single team that owns the outcome from first sketch to final walkthrough.

Design That's Built to Budget
Our design team works alongside Scott's construction knowledge from the very first meeting. Every finish selection, every floor plan change, every material upgrade is evaluated against real build costs — so the plan you approve is the plan we build, at the price we quoted.
Single Point of Accountability
One contract, one team, one phone number. There's no finger-pointing between a separate designer and contractor. If something isn't right, you call Scott. Every subcontractor on your project is vetted, licensed, and has worked with MSP Homes before.
Phased Approach Available
Not ready to do everything at once? We can develop a phased renovation plan that prioritizes the highest-impact work first — kitchen and main floor in Phase 1, bathrooms and basement in Phase 2 — and sequences future phases so each phase builds on the last without rework.
2-Year Workmanship Warranty
Every MSP Homes project includes a 2-year warranty on all workmanship. We stand behind our work long after the project is complete. If something isn't right in year one or year two, we come back and make it right — no questions asked.
Minnesota-Specific Expertise
We build for Minnesota's climate — frost-depth foundations, proper air sealing for -20° winters, moisture management in basements, and material selections that hold up through freeze-thaw cycles. Our subs are local, licensed, and available for warranty calls.

From Vision to Completion

Whole-home remodels are complex. Here's how MSP Homes manages every phase.

01

Discovery & Vision

We start with a deep conversation about how you live, what frustrates you about your current home, and what your dream home looks like. Maria documents your style preferences, must-haves, and wishlist.

02

Design Development

Maria develops a comprehensive design plan — floor plan changes, material palettes, fixture selections, and 3D visualizations. You see exactly what you're getting before any work begins.

03

Scope & Estimating

Scott develops a detailed scope of work and line-item estimate. Whole-home remodels require careful sequencing — we map out every phase so you understand the full picture.

04

Permits & Pre-Construction

We pull all necessary permits, order long-lead materials, and schedule subcontractors. Proper pre-construction planning is what separates smooth projects from chaotic ones.

05

Structural & Mechanical

Demo, structural changes (wall removals, beam installations), plumbing rerouting, electrical panel upgrades, and HVAC modifications. The bones of your new home.

06

Envelope & Insulation

Windows, exterior doors, insulation upgrades, and air sealing — often overlooked but critical for comfort and energy efficiency in Minnesota's climate.

07

Interior Rough Work

Drywall, subfloor prep, tile backer, and all rough-in work completed and inspected before finish work begins.

08

Finish Work

Flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, trim, paint, and accessories — installed in sequence by experienced tradespeople. Maria oversees all finish selections.

09

Final Walkthrough

A thorough walkthrough of every room, punch-list completion, and final cleaning. 2-year workmanship warranty on all work.

"Scott and his team built out an office in an unfinished corner of our basement and also remodeled our bathroom. Using MSP Construction was the best decision I have made since we purchased our house almost 6 years ago. They did a FANTASTIC job on both projects, but also provided expertise on both and were incredibly easy to work with."
